Finca Bernardina Bernardina
Located in Santa Clara, in the Amistad National Park, in the Renacimiento region, the farm is surrounded by mountains, in an area with native trees and a diverse range of fauna. A quarter of the land is preserved as untouched virgin forest, and on just two hectares, coffee trees such as Caturra, Catuai and Maragogype are cultivated, along with fruit trees and other trees. Each cherry is grown slowly and carefully, taking advantage of the "shade" provided by natural trees, in a soil that is managed by human hands, giving off a rich flavor and aroma.
"Bernardina" is the name of the grandmother of the current owner, Felix Aguilar, who started growing coffee on this land in the 1960s, and coffee production has been handed down for three generations. In addition to producing coffee, the farm also puts effort into protecting the flora and fauna in order to maintain the surrounding virgin forest, while at the same time contributing to securing the water resources essential to life.
