<Latest Panama Green Bean Arrival Information> Typica Varieties All Lined Up Vol. 2 Hartmann's Typic
2025.02.28

To put it plainly, in 2021, we imported green coffee beans from the following farms just for Panama "Typica":
□ Hartmann Finca Hartmann, Mi Finquita, Typica, Natural
□ Bambito Bambito Estate Coffee, Typica, Washed
□ Garrido Garrido's, MAMA CATA, Typica, Washed
□ Don Pachi Don Pachi, Typica, Washed
We talked about Garrido before, but among these, the earliest arrival this season was "Mi Finquita, Typica, Natural" from Tessie Hartmann.
Last year in 2020, we handled a small lot of Hartmann's Typica from the same Mi Finquita as Typica, Washed process, but interestingly, that Typica lot received special praise from a specialty shop owner who usually deals with extreme lots of Panama Geisha. With an unusually different expression, they said, "This is a truly delicious coffee."
So, when Tessie contacted us early in the harvest season this year about Typica, we didn't hesitate to have them keep it for us.
Moreover, it's a rare Natural process lot. Did you all notice?

"Truly delicious coffee" (the pronunciation is closer to "honnnnto ni")
It might also be described as the "coffee-ness" that each person idealizes.
Is it due to the characteristics of the Typica variety, which in a sense returns to the origin, or is it thanks to Tessie and the Hartmann family's passion and spirit? Of course, it's both, and needless to say, the latter contributes more significantly.
In any case, this phrase strongly remains in my ears, and since then, it has become synonymous with Hartmann and Typica in my mind, and by extension, has become an adjective to express the quality of traditional varieties from Panama in general.

Typica, Caturra, Catuai – Panama's coffee farms cultivate all varieties, not just Geisha. Like Geisha, all of these are grown with the highest quality, thanks to Panama's unique climate and soil, as well as the producers' skills and passion.
For the coffee we drink every day and the cup we brew for our loved ones, we want to enjoy coffee that we can truly call "delicious."
When I first visited Panama in Central America, what impressed me most was none other than how delicious the coffee was.
Setting aside all complex discussions, our unchanging wish has been and will always be for you to experience "delicious coffee," which is the first step and the foundation of all Panama coffee, through these standard Panama coffees.
